Frequently Asked Questions About Recovery Group Facilitation

What is DAMD Recovery?

DAMD (Dancing Against My Demons) Recovery is a purpose-driven coaching movement that transforms pain into leadership, addiction into accountability, and trauma into truth. We provide professional group facilitators and recovery coaches to treatment centers, rehab facilities, and sober living homes across the Los Angeles metro area.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Los Angeles, Orange County, and the greater Southern California area — including Pasadena, Burbank, Glendale, Santa Monica, Hollywood, downtown LA, and communities throughout Orange County. Our facilitators are available for residential treatment centers, outpatient programs, sober living homes, and PHP/IOP facilities.

What services do you offer?

We offer three main services: (1) Group Facilitation - we staff professional, already-certified recovery coaches and group facilitators into treatment facilities on a temporary or permanent basis, (2) Coach Recruitment & Placement - we recruit certified recovery coaches to join our roster and place them with facilities that need them, and (3) Events & Activities - community gatherings, fitness events, and workshops.

What types of groups do you facilitate?

We facilitate trauma-informed recovery groups, relapse prevention, accountability coaching, CBT-based skills development, anger and shame processing, family systems work, and dual-diagnosis support groups for mental health and addiction.

Do you offer virtual facilitation?

Yes. We offer both on-site and virtual group facilitation to accommodate your facility's needs. Virtual sessions are conducted via secure video call.

How do facilities get started with DAMD?

Click 'Check Availability' to submit your facility information. We'll follow up within 24-48 hours to discuss your program's needs and match you with the right facilitators.

What should facilities expect when partnering with DAMD?

We start with a consultation to understand your program structure, client population, and scheduling needs. Then we provide consistent, professional facilitators who integrate seamlessly with your existing clinical team.

How do I join the DAMD Recovery coach roster?

DAMD recruits recovery coaches and group facilitators who are already certified and trained, then places them with treatment centers, rehab facilities, and sober living homes. If that's you, visit our Become a Coach page or contact us directly to apply to join our roster. We look for lived recovery experience (about 2+ years), an active recovery-coach or peer-support certification, strong boundaries, and a genuine desire to help others.

Do I need certifications to join the DAMD roster?

Yes. Because we place professional recovery coaches into clinical settings, we recruit people who are already certified and trained. We look for an active, recognized recovery-coach or peer-support certification (for example CADC, RADT, CCAR, or NCPRSS / state Peer Support Specialist), lived recovery experience, and a track record of professionalism, strong boundaries, and reliability. DAMD does not run a training or certification program; we recruit and staff coaches who already hold these credentials.

What qualifications do DAMD facilitators have?

All DAMD facilitators have lived recovery experience, professional training in trauma-informed care, and ongoing mentorship. Many have certifications in CBT, motivational interviewing, and peer support. Most importantly, they've walked the path themselves.

What makes DAMD different from other staffing services?

We don't sugarcoat. We don't enable. We bring lived experience combined with professional training. Our facilitators have been through the fire themselves—they speak truth, hold accountability, and bring real impact to your groups.

What methodologies do you use?

We use evidence-informed approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) practices, Motivational Interviewing, SMART Recovery concepts, and trauma-informed care. We combine proven techniques with real-world experience.

What types of facilities do you work with?

We partner with residential treatment centers, sober living homes, IOP programs, PHP programs, and outpatient clinics across Los Angeles. Contact us to discuss your facility's specific needs.

Can facilities book ongoing coverage?

Yes. We offer both one-time and recurring group facilitation coverage. You request the schedule you need, we confirm availability, and groups run consistently with professional facilitators.
